G.I. Jane Full Movie Hd 1080p

Show Spoiler

a5c7b9f00b When a crusading chairperson of the military budget committee pressures the would be Navy secretary to begin full gender integration of the service, he offers the chance for a test case for a female trainee in the US Navy's elite SEAL/C.R.T. selection program. LT. Jordan O'Neill is given the assignment, but no one expects her to succeed in an inhumanly punishing regime that has a standard 60% dropout rate for men. However, O'Neill is determined to prove everyone wrong.
A female Senator succeeds in enrolling a woman into Combined Reconnaissance Team training where everyone expects her to fail.
This is how I love my protagonist. Badass, hardass, and above all, struggling. Throughout the film, our protagonist struggled- Against her own biology, against her social status and even against politics! The struggles, her outstanding evolution throughout the film, the support cast, it's all very well executed. <br/><br/>Usually, female protagonist will always fall for a man throughout the movie and it will usually have a major part in the plot. Well not here! Her connection to her lover did not change almost anything (in regarding the general plot), which is great. No "lovey dovey mushy tushy" sh*t! It's all her. No "power of love", one of the worst tropes in movies.<br/><br/>Still, it's not a 10/10 movie. Everything was intense, but at a certain point nothing is intense. It reached it's peak and stayed there- No cool down or another, higher peak. <br/><br/>Cons: At a certain point it's not excitingit first was. The finale wasn't that exciting either. Plot feels too simple at times.<br/><br/>Pros: Great acting Best feminist propaganda I've seen in years Funny, wholesome and badass moments. many of them (and maybe too many)
G.I. Jane has some good points, good scenes, and (some)good acting. However, I saw its main pointtrying to promote a "can-do" scenario for women in the military (I am a female veteran of 24 years) and I think several things in the movie do just the opposite. If the idea, problem, or goal is to prove that women can succeed in a traditionally male career, task, or training, then that should be presented while maintaining the woman's gender. What I mean is, O'Neil doesn't succeed until she shaves her head (shorter than the men's - and unnecessary), bulks up to the point where her body fat falls below normal and she ceases to menstruate, and generally becomes "one of the boys." The point is, she's a woman, not a man. She shouldn't have to become a man to prove she can succeed with a group of men. This is painfully clear when she screams "Suck my dick," at the Sergeant. The obvious point is that, since she's a woman, she doesn't have one of those. Nor should she need to metaphorically develop one in order to succeed. Another point I'd like to make is that her dialoguea prisoner of war was ridiculous. The object is to survive. If you don't, your mission has failed. Taunting, bragging, and arguing with captors is a big NO-NO. Her, "I'm sorry, am I supposed to be afraid?" line would have gotten her stripped naked and suspended under a water hose for hours. There are no cadets that are tougher than the captors(instructors). Bringing unhappy attention to oneself in that situation is inescapably stupid. It is not tough. Her worst line, though, is "I'm going in." CLICHE!!
The most refreshing performance is by Mortensen.
As the first 'test case' of a woman to undergo SEAL training in the US Navy's elite Combined Reconnaissance Team (CRT), Lt Jordan O'Neill (<a href="/name/nm0000193/">Demi Moore</a>) demands to be treated like all the other guys and attempts to prove her ability …although everyone else expects her to fail. G.I. Jane is based on a screenplay by American screenwriters David Twohy and Danielle Alexandra. They're ship fenders: they're hung between Naval vesselsbumpers to prevent damage from ships docked next to each other that would collide if the fender weren't there. The fenders are large, bulky, heavy, and are useda test of both strength and teamwork for the trainees. It's the Navy equivalent of a dunce cap to show that Cortez (<a href="/name/nm0883008/">David Vadim</a>) had shamed the rest of the company by not helping O'Neill over the wall at the end of the obstacle course. Master Chief Urgayle (<a href="/name/nm0001557/">Viggo Mortensen</a>) explains that SEALs don't leave their crew members behind. Urgayle wanted to show the entire trainee company that Cortez acted inappropriately. Later,O'Neill is walking away from the Master Chief's quarters, Cortez is shown digging a hole with the oarpunishment. "Head" is a Navy term for toilet. "Dropped On Request". Urgayle and his command staff use it on their roster board to refer to anyone who leaves the training program before completing it—hence the few trainees we see ringing the bell. The US Navy SEAL program has a very high dropout rate,we hear explained at the beginning of O'Neill's training. The program is deliberately tough because the Navy wants recruits that can handle the hard demands of the work they do. Using her experiencea topographical analyst, O'Neill surmises that the Master Chief is not about to lead the Libyans to the spot where the team is waiting to rally with the Las Vegas and would, most likely, follow a southwest wash instead. They make their way near to the mouth of the wash and set up an ambush, planting mines in a "kill zone" and hiding in wait behind the rocks. As O'Neill predicted, the Chief comes barrelling down the wash with the Libyans directly behind him. The team attempts to cover him, but Urgayle is hit by two Libyan bullets and falls in the "kill zone." O'Neill rushes into the minefield and, with McCool's (<a href="/name/nm0004820/">Morris Chestnut</a>) help, drags Urgayle out. The mines are then detonated, and the team extracted by helicopter. Some time later, back at the SEAL training facility, the successful graduates are accepted to the CRT and given their pins from Urgayle. In the final scene, O'Neill opens her locker and finds a copy of D.H. Lawrence's Selected Poems with a Navy Cross marking the page containing the poem "Self Pity". She turns to see Urgayle, his leg in a brace, walking out of the locker room but not before flashing her a short, congratulatory smile. It would seem strange that Urgayle would give his decoration to someone but he likely did it because O'Neill dragged him out of a very dangerous situation in much the same manner that Urgayle dragged a comrade to safety, the action that got him the decoration in the first place. It's also done to show the high respect that Urgayle now has for Jordan for completing such a difficult training course and to thank her for rescuing him.
